Artist-in-residence

Returned home from an artist residency in Portugal. Feel lucky to have met some generous people and got to investigate new ideas.

Spring awakening

Exploring the dynamics of combinations - such as forest scenes and dancers movements.

Dancer: Ida Frøymyr Borgen

I have currently completed a series from the Xalo valley in Spain. This valley is covered with plots of cultivated land with almond trees. When in blossom, the trees are a spectacular sight. It is a popular recreational area for the inhabitants in the surrounding villages. Sadly, the municipal authorities were on the verge to send in the bulldozers and initiate yet another holiday housing project. Thanks to the strong protests of the community, their plans have been postponed.

Your Move

Participated in Your Move 2013 a project produced by Siobhan Davies Dance  …an investigative arts organisation that stimulates new thinking based on a more contemporary definition of choreography.

Anticipation

This week I have been working with dance students. Very grateful for all the advice they shared on how to read and anticipate a dancers next move.
